Our story began when Christina Vallianatos, a UM graduate student, encountered Joshua Hall, the director of Science Outreach at the UNC School of Medicine. North Carolina began their DNA Day program in 2007 and has since visited over 2,000 high school classrooms across the state. The enthusiasm and dedication of the NC DNA Day program has led to the expansion of the curriculum across numerous states.
